TARMAC Legacy has its roots in the DNA of TARMAC Aerosave.
Since its inception, what makes it so unique in the aircraft maintenance sector, has been its commitment to extending the life of aircraft, treating their noble materials with respect and honouring the cutting-edge work that went into their assembly.
Dismantle rather than destroy.
Sort rather than shred.
Recycle rather than discard.
And in this way, avoid harming the environment during dismantling.
By applying the principle of the circular economy to aviation, TARMAC Aerosave has recycled 420 of the 1,700 aircraft it has received since 2007, when Airbus, Safran Aircraft Engines and Suez launched this unique concept, using exclusive dismantling and cutting processes.
What if we could go even further than recycling? What if the parts that remain once the aircraft has finished delivering its essential components could also be given a second life? While high-value parts continue their life in flight, why should those that remain on the ground have no life at all? What if we tried to get even closer to a 100% recovery rate? What if, finally, we responded to the call of all those enthusiasts, training centres and artists who are asking TARMAC Aerosave to open its treasure chest to them?
These are the questions that led us to launch a new adventure in 2025: upcycling.
And so, one spring day in 2025, TARMAC Legacy was born, officially unveiled at the Paris Air Show. Legacy.

A precious heritage, that of these flying machines that have travelled the skies of the world, bringing together colleagues and families, transporting our goods and supplies. This legacy belongs to all the pioneers, engineers and aircrew who have passed on to us their passion for flying machines, their technical expertise and innovations, and who have been writing the great history of aviation since its very beginnings. And it is because every aircraft carries this heritage within it that it attracts the affection of passengers, with some enthusiasts going so far as to collect models or display a piece of it in their homes as a work of art or piece of furniture.
It was with these enthusiasts in mind that we created the TARMAC Legacy collection.
